It’s a really workable little “all-in one” vlogging kit that gives you the basics to be up and running right out of the box. You will also need an iPhone-to-3.5mm adapter for the microphone input (and it maybe would have been nice if this was included in the kit) but everything else is here. I’m not a seasoned, professional content creator with a heavy workload that places big demand on equipment, so your reaction may vary depending on how serious you are, but for a convenient, package, run and gun setup that doesn’t break the bank? It’s all here.
The telescoping mini tripod is particularly cool, with its integrated ball head. There is a decent amount of plastic throughout, but it’s sturdy enough where it exists, and some of the serious components are aluminum, which is nice. The microphone performance is good for the price, and the two different wind shields both fit snugly. There is also some kind of funky rubber suction cup mount, and I still haven’t figured out what that is, exactly. But it’s here. And the light? It’s great! I love that it’s rechargeable, and the color temperature is right where I want it for little YouTube videos and such.
Bottom line? You could probably search around on eBay and assemble all this yourself for less money, but having it all delivered in one box from one Canadian company was appealing, and I have no complaints. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat.
